Chili Garlic Shrimp

Chili Garlic Shrimp

Lately, I have really been loving Asian food and I received some chili oil from Hot Jiang and I can definitely say, this chili oil is AMAZING! As soon as I tried it, I knew I wanted to make a sweet and spicy sauce with shrimp. I threw some ingredients together and created this delicious shrimp! You could even use the sauce on salmon bites or chicken……hmmmmm, I might make that next :) Peel and devein 1lb of xlarge sized shrimp and season with 1/2 tsp of salt, 1/2 tsp of black pepper and 1 tbsp of paprika. Make sure the shrimp is fully coated.

In a wok or a pan, add 1 tbsp of vegetable oil. Once the hot is hot, add the shrimp. Cook 3-5 minutes or until the shrimp turns a slight pink color and are fully cooked and set aside.

In the same pan, add 1 tsp of sesame oil, 2 tbsp of minced garlic, 2 tbsp soy sauce, 1 1/2 tbsp of hoisin, 2 tbsp of Hot Jiang chili oil, 1 tbsp of green onion and 1/3 cup of water and stir. Cook about 2-3 minutes or until the sauce starts to thicken.

Once the sauce has thickened, add the shrimp and coat the shrimp in the sauce.

Garnish with chopped green onion and serve with rice or Thai noodles. Serve and ENJOY!
