Honey Balsamic Pork Chops

Honey Balsamic Pork Chops

If you ever need a break from steak but still want the meaty and juicy flavors, then this is the recipe for you! I grew up eating pork as a young girl. My grandparents would raise pigs in our backyard and have fresh pork constantly. After tasting the flavors from a fresh pig, its difficult for me to eat the store-bought pork. Thats why I rarely cook pork chops. While I was in the grocery store the other day, I ran across these super thick cut pork chops and I knew I had to get them. I received some garlic butter from Golden Steer and knew these would be perfect with the butter! Granted garlic butter makes anything tastes great, but the flavors from the pork would enhance it. I decided to balance out the flavors and make a honey glaze with balsamic for some acidity and when I tell you this dish was finger licking good……IT WAS! Definitely a must try! Take a small knife and pierce a few holes into 2 thick cut pork chops. This allows the flavor to seep through the pork chops and also for an even cook.

Season the pork chops with 2 tbsp of olive oil, 2 tbsp of Golden Steer’s Pepper Mafia Seasoning, 2 tbsp of onion powder, 2 tbsp of garlic salt and 2 tbsp of paprika. Make sure the chops are fully seasoned.

Brush 1 tbsp of vegetable oil on a griddle pan and once the pan is hot, add the pork chops.

Cook 3-5 minutes on each side or until the pork chops have a good crust on the outside. Set aside on an oven safe pan.

Add 1 tbsp of Golden Steer’s Maitre D’ Garlic Butter to each pork chop. Add to a 400 degree oven for 8-10 minutes or until the pork chops have reached an internal temperature of 160 degree for a 1 1/2 inch thick cut pork chop. If the pork chop is less than 1 1/2 inch thick, then the temperature should be about 150 degrees.

Remove from the oven and set aside.

In a saucepan, add 1 1/2 tbsp of the Maitre D’ Garlic Butter, 1 tsp of minced garlic, 1 tbsp of honey and 1/3 cup of balsamic vinegar and cook 3-5 minutes or until the sauce starts to thicken. Season with salt & pepper (to taste).

Pour the glaze on top of the pork chops and serve with mashed potatoes and asparagus for a complete meal. Serve and ENJOY!
