Walking Tacos
Walking Tacos
The Super Bowl is tomorrow and if you are hosting a party, these Walking Tacos should definitely be on the menu! They are fun, delicious and have a easy clean-up. I also love these since you can get creative with the toppings and the bags of chips that you can use. This recipe also includes my homemade queso, but you can use store-bought queso to make it simpler. Start by fully cooking 1 lb of ground beef or ground turkey and drain some of the oil. Keep a little bit of the oil for added flavor.
To the ground beef, add 1/2 small diced yellow onion and cook 3-5 minutes or until the onions are soft.
To the ground beef and onions, add 1 pack of taco seasoning, 1 pack of Ranch taco seasoning and 1/2 cup of water and stir well.
Cook for about 1-2 minutes or until the water and seasoning is mixed in well and set aside.
In a pot, add 1 tbsp of butter. Once the butter has fully melted, add 1 4 oz can of diced chilis to the pot and stir well.
Add 1 cup of heavy cream and 1 1/2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese and stir well.
Season with 1/2 tsp of onion powder and salt and pepper (to taste). Cook 2-3 minutes or until the cheese sauce starts to thicken and set aside.
Cut the corners of the chip bags and then horizontal and set aside.
Assemble the walking tacos by adding your favorite toppings. I added the cooked ground beef, queso, shredded cheese, shredded lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream and jalapenos.
Feel free to use any toppings that you would like. Serve and ENJOY!
