Cedar Plank Salmon w/Herb Butter
Cedar plank Salmon w/herb Butter
If you ever want to add some extra flavor to a whole salmon or any whole fish, grill it on a cedar plank. The cedar plank gives it more smoky flavor and makes the fish extremely moist and tender. You normally see these at restaurants but you can easily make these at home. I order some cedar planks on Amazon and they were there the next day. The herb butter that I used on the salmon can be used on steak or chicken as well. If you want, you can save some and freeze it. Before you use the cedar planks, make sure to soak them in water for at least one hour.
Grab a whole salmon and set aside. If you want, you can cut the salmon in smaller pieces, depending on the size of the cedar plank but I prefer to keep it whole.
For the herb butter, I used fresh thyme, dill and parsley but you can use any herbs that you like. Chop the herbs finely.
In a bowl, add 1 stick of softened butter, 1 tbsp of dill, 1 tbsp of thyme, 1 tbsp parsley, 1 tbsp garlic salt and 1 tsp of paprika and mix well.
Spread the butter over the whole salmon. Make sure it is completely covered with the butter.
Add the salmon to the cedar plank. To grill, I used a Ninja Woodfire Outdoor Grill and pre-heated the grill and set it to the “grill” option. Once it was ready, I added the salmon and cooked it for 15 minutes. I would recommend getting a Ninja Woodfire Outdoor Grill, it was really easy to use. It not only grills but it smokes and air fries!!!!
Once the salmon is cooked, serve with your favorite side dishes and ENJOY!
