Jalapeno Poppers
Stuffed Jalapeno Poppers
This is an easy and delicious appetizer that can be served at any function. Anytime my friend has a get together at her house, she always has jalapeno poppers ready for everyone to eat. You might think these are really spicy since it is stuffed jalapenos, but you can control the spice by removing all or some of the seeds. The heat of peppers come from the seeds. Whenever you are dealing with peppers, you want to always use gloves. Trust me, I had to learn this the hard way. One day I made 50 poppers and did not use gloves, my hands were burning by the end of the night. If you don’t want your hands to burn, wear gloves. The jalapenos are stuffed with pork sausage but you could use ground turkey to make it a little more healthy. Brown some pork sausage (breakfast sausage as some would call it) in a pan. Make sure it is completely cooked.
With your gloves on, slice the jalapenos down the middle.
Using a knife and spoon, remove the seeds. If you want a little spice, leave a few inside. If you prefer no spice, remove all of the seeds.
In a bowl, add 2 7.5oz packages of chive & onion cream cheese and the cooked pork sausage. If needed, add the mixture to the microwave for 20 seconds to soften the cream cheese. This will make it easier to mix.
Once it is fully mixed, spoon mixture inside each jalapeno half.
After they have all been filled, take 12 slices of bacon and cut them in half. Take one slice and wrap around the jalapeno. Repeat steps until all of the jalapenos are filled and wrapped with bacon.
Add the jalapenos to a pre-heated oven at 425 degrees for 45 minutes or until the bacon is fully cooked and brown. Serve and ENJOY!
