Easy Baked Beans
Easy Baked Beans
Baked beans is a staple side dish for any barbecue meat recipe. Its sweet, salty and saucy goodness all in one bite! This is an easy recipe, so this does not require too much prep such as washing and soaking the beans for hours. I used canned beans and spruced them up. For the saltiness in the dish, I add bacon. If you are not a fan of pork, you could add turkey bacon instead. If you like meat in your baked beans, you could add ground beef or turkey instead of the bacon as well. You can modify this recipe to fit your needs. Start by slicing 10 slices of bacon and cook in a skillet.
While the bacon is cooking, dice 1 green bell pepper and 1 cup of white onion.
Remove the bacon from the pan and set aside. Add the diced onion and bell pepper to the pan and cook in the bacon grease. Cook until the onion and bell peppers are soft.
Add 2 28 oz cans of pork & beans to the pan.
Add 2 cups of your favorite barbecue sauce and 1/4 tsp of salt.
Pour the beans into a baking dish and top with the cooked bacon. Put in a 375 degree oven for 1 hour (30 minutes covered and 30 minutes uncovered).
Serve with your favorite main dish and ENJOY!
