Green Beans w/ Mushrooms
Sauteed Green Beans w/ Mushrooms
I am always trying to create fun and delicious ways to enhance the taste of vegetables. Especially when I am trying to get my daughter to eat more of them. This is a great way to add more flavor to fresh green beans. This is a great vegetarian side dish that is quick and easy to make. Melt butter and olive oil in a saute’ pan. For a vegan option, omit the butter and only add olive oil. I add both since the butter will help them carmalize.
Once the butter has melted, add the fresh green beans and mushrooms to the pan. I used sliced cremini mushrooms but feel free to use the mushroom type of your choice.
Add garlic salt and Accent seasonings to the vegetables. Toss the veggies around and make sure each piece is coated with the oil and seasonings. Once they are tossed, add water and immediately cover the pan with a lid. This will cause the veggies to steam.
Cook for about 5 minutes with the lid on. Take the lid off and toss the veggies again. You will see some carmalization on the veggies.
Put the lid back on and cook for another 5-7 minutes. Add the veggies to your favorite serving dish and enjoy!
