Parmesan Crusted Tilapia
Parmesan Crusted tilapia
There has always been a secret rule that cheese and seafood do not mix, well……I completely disagree! Tilapia breaded with parmesan and bread crumbs are delicious!!! This is an easy and quick recipe that is good for any occasion. If you don’t want to use tilapia, you could use cod or any other flaky white fish.
Season the tilapia with 1 tbsp Old Bay, 1 tbsp garlic powder, 1 tbsp onion powder and 1 tbsp paprika.
In a bowl, add 1 egg and 1/3 cup water. Mix well and make an egg wash.
In a separate bowl, add 1 cup of grated parmesan and 3/4 cup of bread crumbs. Stir well.
For each tilapia filet, dip in the egg wash and then coat in the parmesan and bread crumb mixture. Repeat until all of the filets are fully coated.
In a skillet, add 1 tsp of oil and 1 tsp of butter. Once the butter has melted, add the filets, do not over crowd the pan or the filets will not brown. If you cook them one at a time, make sure to add more butter and oil after each filet. Cook 5-7 minutes on each side.
Repeat until all of the filets are cooked. To reheat all of the filets, put them in a 350 degree oven for 10 minutes.
Squeeze fresh lemon juice on each filet and serve. ENJOY!
