Garlic Butter Ribeye Steak
Garlic Butter Ribeye Steak
Ribeye steak is my all time favorite cut for a steak. Whenever we are at a fancy steakhouse restaurant, you better believe I am ordering a ribeye. The marbling in the cut of the meat allows the steak to get really juicy and tender……yummy! The worst you can do to a steak is over cook it, so the best temperature, in my opinion, is medium. Its cooked through but still has some pink color for extra flavor. Once I figured out that I can replicate a delicious ribeye at home for half the price, it was hard for me to go back to a steakhouse. For a good ribeye, I normally go to Central Market. Their cowboy ribeyes are the best! They are a little more pricier than your local grocery store, but I promise it is worth the extra few dollars. Normally, I eat my steaks with only salt and pepper but I wanted to add a little more flavor to the steak so I decided to make a garlic butter to go along with it. Season your steak with 1 tbsp of onion powder, 1 tbsp garlic salt, 1 tsp black pepper and 1/4 cup of Worcestershire sauce. Let marinate for at least 30 minutes.
Grease your griddle pan with vegetable oil and butter. If you do not have a griddle pan, a cast iron skillet will work. Heat your pan until the oil starts smoking, then you know it is hot and ready.
Add the steaks to the griddle pan. For medium temperature, cook 5 minutes per side to reach an internal temperature of 150 degrees.
While the steaks are cooking, add 1 softened stick of butter to a bowl. To the butter add 1 tsp of freshly chopped parsley, 1 tbsp of minced garlic and 1/2 tsp of salt. Stir well and put in the fridge for at least 15 minutes.
Once the steaks are cooked, add them to a cast iron skillet and top with the garlic butter.
Add the steak to a 425 degree oven for 5 minutes or until the butter is fully melted. Be careful not to overcook the steak.
Remove your steak from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes. Once it has rested, cut your steak and serve.
Serve with your favorite side dish and ENJOY!
