Strawberry Brownies
Strawberry Brownies
Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day and these brownies are the perfect dessert! Especially with the added touch of heart shaped strawberries, which are optional. For this recipe, I used a strawberry cake mix and turned it into a brownie mix. The main difference in the cake mix and brownie mix is the added liquid, such as milk or water. For this recipe, you will omit the milk. Start by washing and dicing 1/2 cup of fresh strawberries.
In a bowl, add 2 eggs, 1/2 cup of vegetable oil and 1/4 tsp of vanilla and whisk well.
To the bowl, add 1 package of strawberry cake mix and whisk well.
Add the diced strawberries to the batter and fold it into the batter gently.
Add wax paper to an 8x8 or 9x9 square pan and pour the batter into the pan. Using a spatula, spread the batter into the pan.
Add to a 350 degree oven and cook for 20-25 minutes. Once the brownies are cooked, allow them to cool completely.
While the brownies are cooling, in a bowl, add 1 cup of powdered sugar and 2 tbsp of milk and whisk well.
After the brownies have cooled, pour the glaze on top and spread evenly. Cut the brownies into your preferred size.
For garnish, top with sliced fresh strawberries. Optional: For the heart-shaped strawberries, remove the greenery from the strawberry, slice the strawberry in two, make a “v” cut at the top of the strawberry and now you have strawberry hearts. Serve and ENJOY!
