Honey Chipotle Ghost Pepper Wings
Honey Chipotle Ghost Pepper Wings
If you like sweet and spicy wings, these are the wings for you! I received some delicious new sauces from Traeger (the grill company) and of course I had to come up with a delicious recipe. As soon as I tasted the Smoky Chipotle Ghost Pepper sauce, I knew they would be perfect on wings! The smoky and spicy flavor is delicious! For me to cut out some of the spice, I decided to add some honey. This gives the sauce a sweet and spicy flavor. Start by cutting 14 chicken wings and removing the tips. Each wing will have a flat and a drumstick.
In a bowl, season the chicken wings with 2 tbsp of garlic powder, 2 tbsp of onion powder, 2 tbsp cajun seasoning, 2 tbsp paprika and 2 tbsp corn starch. Mix well and make sure each piece of chicken is fully coated.
Add 2-3 cups of vegetable oil to a cast iron skillet. Once the oil has reached a temperature of 350 degrees, cook the wings 7-8 at a time for 10-13 minutes or until the wings are fully cooked.
Add the cooked wings to a baking rack to drain any excess oil.
In a pot, add 1 tbsp of butter, 1 tbsp of honey and 1/2 cup of the Traeger Smoky Chipotle Ghost Pepper sauce and mix well. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until the sauce starts to slightly thicken and remove it from the heat. It will get thicker once it cools.
Pour the sauce over the wings and toss. Make sure each wing is fully coated.
Serve with celery, carrots and ranch dressing. Serve and ENJOY!
