Crab Legs w/ Sausage & Potatoes
Savory and Buttery Crab Legs
I have been to many seafood restaurants and get crab legs, but I always get disappointed. Either they are bland, overcooked or just straight up nasty! Crab legs are pricey so if I get them and they are not good, that is a huge waste. So I decided to create my own recipe for crab legs. I used snow crabs for this recipe but it works for King crab legs as well. I purchased a 10lb box of frozen snow crab legs. I rinsed them off with hot water.
I filled my 12 quart pot about half way with water. I added my favorite crab boil seasoning and lemon pepper to the water.
To go along with the crab legs, I grabbed my favorite smoked sausage and sliced them on the bias (diagnolly). I also had some baby potatoes that I washed and rinsed. You can also add your favorite corn on the cob.
After about 15-20 minutes, your water is piping hot and boiling. Add all of the sausages and potatoes to the hot water. Once the potatoes have gotten fork tender, which is about 10-15 minutes of boiling, you can take both the potatoes and sausages out of the water.
You can add the sausage and potatoes to your favorite pan and pour the butter sauce on top. The butter sauce recipe is included below.
Now the fun part begins!!!!! Put about 5-6 crab legs in the boiling water. Cook each batch for 10-15 minutes and put the crab legs on the same pan as the potatoes and sausage. Once all of the crab legs are cooked, top with the butter sauce, additional crab boil seasoning and parsley flakes.
The butter sauce can be used on any seafood boils. Its really easy and simple to make. In a sauce pan, add butter, crab boil seasoning, lemon pepper seasoning, hot sauce, lemon juice and mince garlic. Once the butter is completely melted and have reduced down, stir and pour over the crab legs, potatoes and sausage.
