Bourbon Glazed Salmon
Bourbon Glazed Salmon
If you love a sweet and spicy glaze with a lot of flavor, this is the recipe for you! You can use this glaze on different types of fish and chicken as well. It’s simple and quick to make. Pan searing the salmon and cooking it in the glaze makes the salmon extremely moist and tender. You can use fresh or frozen salmon for this recipe. I used a whole salmon that was about 2 lbs and cut it into smaller pieces.
Season the whole 2 lb salmon on each side with 2 tbsp of garlic salt, 2 tbsp of onion powder, 2 tbsp of paprika and 1 tsp of black pepper. Make sure the salmon is fully seasoned on each side.
In a pan, add 1 tbsp of butter and 1 tsp of vegetable or olive oil. Once the butter has melted and the oil is hot, add the salmon skin side down. Cook 3-5 minutes per side depending on how thick the salmon is.
Once the salmon is fully cooked, remove from the pan and set aside. Repeat until all of the salmon is fully cooked.
In the same pan, add 1/3 cup of soy sauce, 1/4 cup of brown sugar, 1 tsp of minced garlic, 1/2 tsp of red pepper flakes and 1 tsp of lemon juice and stir well. Once the glaze starts to bubble, add 1 oz of bourbon and stir again. Cook the glaze for 8-10 minutes or until it starts to thicken.
Once the glaze starts to thicken, add the salmon back to the pan and cook another 2-4 minutes. Baste the salmon with the glaze.
Top with sesame seeds and green onions as a garnish.
Serve with rice or mashed potatoes and veggies. Serve and ENJOY!
